Once a term, the Newman Society and Chaplaincy join up with Blackfriars to host Nightfever: an evening of prayer and evangelisation.

During Nightfever, the church is open for adoration accompanied by peaceful music. Teams of two or three stand outside and invite passers-by to come inside and light a candle and to put it in front of the altar, in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Even when these people leave, their candles burn on as a symbol of their thoughts and prayers.

Through this simple way of reaching out, God can work miracles. At the conclusion of the event, the team gets together to share stories and to pray for everyone they have met.

The next Nightfever will be in Michaelmas 2023.
