LIVING AT THE CHAPLAINCY

OXFORD UNIVERSITY CATHOLIC CHAPLAINCY
Click here for a message from the Chaplains - June 22
Hello!

As we begin the summer vac, we want to ensure that we can continue to stay in touch. If you are leaving Oxford University, please don't forget to send us your non-university email address. We even have a mailing list for alumni! (Note: you can sign up for this even if it's been more than a few years since you graduated!) Contact Alvea to update your details.

If you have any surplus non-perishable food items that you would like to donate to the Chaplaincy before you leave, please contact Alvea.

If you will be moving to a different college, let us know when you have a new email address so that we can update our records.

If you have any small or medium-sized practical items that you would like to donate to the Chaplaincy that can be used by other students (or that we may donate on to a charity like JRS if needed), please contact Alvea. In the last couple of years, we have received items like a neck warmer, kettle, suitcase, saucepans, duvets and pillows, among other things.
Over the summer, we hope to inventory our stock so the sooner we know what we have, the easier it will be to find something when requested.

Students - let us know if you are in Oxford over the summer. We can add you to the ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฝ ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜.

Over the vac, the Library and Strange Room will be in use at various times for external bookings including summer schools. Please join the vac chat (see above) to be notified of changes.
If you have books to return, please do so ASAP and email library@cathchap.ox.ac.uk.
The Strange Room may not be available to Chaplaincy members in July and August. There may be more flexibility over the weekend. Please contact a Chaplain with queries.
If you left any personal items in those spaces, please contact Alvea as soon as possible.
The Chapel will be open as usual, from 7am to 11pm, until further notice.

Each academic year, the Catholic Chaplaincy offers rooms to 12 student residents, studying at various levels in many of Oxford’s colleges.

These students form a community at the heart of Chaplaincy life. They share meals at least once a week, take on various responsibilities and service tasks within the house, and make a commitment to support one another in the Catholic faith, be that through shared times of prayer or simple conversation and friendship.ย

Rooms are available from 0th Week of Michaelmas through to 9th Week of Trinity, with the option of retaining rooms over Vacations at the usual termly rate.

Application is by written form and interview with the Senior Chaplain and one Assistant Chaplain, and forms are usually released at the start of Hilary term.

Living at the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy is more than just accommodation.

Here are some of our students, past and present.
