Wherever the Gospel of the poor is proclaimed with intellectual rigour, deep compassion and personal engagement, a great service is done to the Church and to the World. But it is impossible to do long term work for global development, environmental concern, justice and peace, without tackling the hard questions of economics, law, physical science and ethics.
