Cardinal Newman always wanted there to be an Oratory in Oxford and after the Jesuits handed St. Aloysius to the Birmingham Diocese in the 1980s, the opportunity came and has been taken up. The Provost is Fr. Robert Byrne and the Parish Priest is Fr. Daniel Seward.

Blackfriars is a Permanent Private Hall and the Dominican House of studies in Oxford. Many of the senior community teach in the University as well as delivering their own ‘Studium’.

St. Benet’s Hall
St. Giles
St. Benet’s is a Permanent Private Hall founded by the Benedictine Monks of Ampleforth, it has a lay and religious fellowship. The Master is Fr. Felix Stephens OSB. There is a Sunday Mass before lunch. This is primarily for students of the Hall but visitors are welcome.
