Faith Formation

The Chaplaincy offers opportunities for students to explore their Catholic Faith intellectually and to develop their own spirituality. 

For the Understanding

CaFE student-led exploration of Catholic Christianity through DVD and discussion. If you are Catholic and concerned about the meaning and relevance of your faith or if you are just interested in Catholic Christianity, this could be for you. Sessions take place on Thursday evenings from 2nd - 7th week as part of Cathsoc’s Pasta Plus.  6:30 food and 7:00 DVD and discussion.  Contact Mark Theobald (mark.theobald@worc.ox.ac.uk)

Credo Group is led by Sr. Nora. The group meets on Wednesdays at 8:15am in Sr. Nora’s Room

Exploring Faith is led by a group of young Dominicans studying at Blackfriars.  They seek to stimulate reflection and discussion on a range of topics in contemporary theology. Meetings take place on Monday evenings in the Dining Room at 7:30.  Contact: David Rocks OP (daviderocks@hotmail.com)

GT3 Graduate discussion Group An informal paper and discussion over food on a theological theme of common interest.  Meetings in the dining room on Tuesday at 1:45 or Thursdays from 6:00 over Pasta.

A Journey with Paul  Pope Benedict has declared 2008 - 2009 the ‘Year of Paul’. Fr. Moffatt leads a reading of key letters of the controversial apostle to the gentiles, against the background of the narrative of Acts. Michaelmas - Trinity 5:00 - 6:00 Thursday evenings.

Spirituality

Lectio is led by Sr Nora and is an opportunity to discover for yourself this ancient way of praying through scripture and to take part in faith-sharing.  Meetings on Thursday evenings at 8:00.

Christian Life Communities following on from the weeks of guided prayer last term, an opportunity to form small groups supporting one another in integrating prayer, discernment and daily life.

Retreat Days

There will be a Day of Reflection for Ministry Groups on Saturday 15th November

There will be a retreat day on the theme of discernment and vocation on Saturday, 22nd November.
