Oxford in Lourdes
The annual Oxford and Cambridge pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from the 25th July until the 1st August.
Every year a group from the Oxford Chaplaincy go to Lourdes, the small town in the foothills of the Pyrenees where Our Lady made 18 apparitions to the young Bernadette Soubirous (St Bernadette) in 1858. Our group goes to work with the service for a week – helping in the baths and in the hospitals for pilgrims, doing crowd-control at the candlelight and Eucharistic processions, and unloading at the station. We also have time to ourselves to visit the grotto where Our Lady appeared to St Bernadette, to pray and to explore. It is important that we buy tickets soon, so if you are interested in coming or would like to know more information, please email to andrea.pass@magd.ox.ac.uk by the end of fourth week week.
