Retreats – St Beuno’s and Barmouth
CLC members are encouraged to go on an Ignatian retreat every year. A retreat offers a space to think, pray and enjoy a break from the daily stress of everyday life. A time away with God, to consider what is truly important to you and where your deepest desires lie.
Many Individually guided retreats take place in silence, but you have a spiritual director who you can talk to daily. They offer suggestions and guidance for prayer, a sympathetic ear, can help you discern the way ahead.
St Beunos (Ignation retreat centre in North Wales) are offering two eight-day retreats at significant reduced rates. The dates of these are 8-17 June and 25 June – 2 July. More details can be found in the attached flyer: Retreats at St Beunos_June_July 10
There is also a 6 or 8 day IGR taking place in Barmouth between 23-30 July (6 day) or 21-30 July (8 day). This is also at a reduced rate £360 8 day; £280 6 day and a student rate of £160. There are only a few spaces left on this retreat. For more information and bookings please go to the St Beunos Website www.beunos.com
If you would like to discuss more about what might be the benefit of going on retreat or to explore other retreat options please feel free to get in touch with Sister Sarah Anne srsak10@hotmail.com

Life at Oxford can be incredibly busy. At any given moment there are hundreds of things you could be doing and it can be hard to find the time to think, let alone pray. Christian Life Community (CLC) involves being part of a small group who meet regularly to take time out to pray together and listen to God. We try to see how God is acting in our lives and discern where he is guiding us through the ups and downs of everyday life.
A typical meeting begins with a cup of tea, a biscuit and a chat, catching up on the week. We then move to a guided meditation on a Gospel passage. This is in the style of an imaginative contemplation in which we imagine ourselves in the Gospel scene either as one of the characters or as an onlooker. Afterwards there is a chance to share our reflections with each other, perhaps identifying particular points in the passage or meditation which have meant something to us. Then we move onto our prayers of intercession.
